Splash Fountain Fun

Chase at Desert Ridge Splash Fountain

We took a sporadic trip to Phoenix last week and had lots of water fun. We went to the Desert Ridge splash fountain because it's a favorite of mine, there is plenty of shade, seating and tables. The fountains are ideal for toddlers since they don't spray all over the place - like some do, and it's at an outdoor mall so there are plenty of great food choices. I got the scoop from a couple of local mom's that said the splash fountain at the new "Scottsdale Quarter " is even better. I am hoping to make it back down soon to check out the "Quarter" myself.

Although none of the picture's I took really captured any smiles - there really were lots of them! My phone camera had a delayed reaction that day and I had forgot to charge my other camera!

Looking for a splash pad in your area? There are tons of options in the Phoenix area, not all of them were listed here but this splash pad directory  may help you if you are in the splish splash fountain kind of mood.

Things to bring when you go:
  • Sunscreen of course
  • Towels
  • Swim Diapers for the little ones
  • Water Toys - or not - totally optional
  • Drinking Water- Never let your child drink from the splash fountains
  • Sun Hat, Sunglasses or anything you'd take to a beach
  • Dry clothes for after
Or, you could  have your very own splash pad installed in your yard at home! A good old fashion sprinkler can be just as much fun, but if you want to spruce up your yard, this can be a great alternative to a pool. It's much safer and fun for all ages, and I've never heard of a splash pad drowning. Enjoy these residential photos by Splash Zone:
I know Right, how cool is this!

Looks so refreshing!

Isn't this a pretty one!

As you can see, the possibilities are endless!
